Ahmedabad's Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport has two terminals next to each other. Terminal 1 handles most domestic flights and Terminal 2 handles international and some domestic flights. Always check your ticket, because airlines sometimes move terminals.
How long does it take to reach the airport?
From the east side of the city, such as Naroda, Chandkheda or Nikol, it's usually 20 to 30 minutes. From the west, such as Bopal, Shela or Prahlad Nagar, plan for 40 to 50 minutes. Add 15 minutes during office hours and on wedding-season evenings.
When should you leave home?
For domestic flights, aim to reach the airport 90 minutes before departure. For international flights, reach 3 hours before. For a 6 am flight from Bopal, that means leaving home by 4:15 am.
Tips for early morning flights
- Book your cab the evening before, not at 3 am.
- Keep your ID and boarding pass on your phone and on paper.
- Tell the driver your airline so he drops you at the right gate.
Our airport taxis run 24 hours, and the driver tracks your flight on the way back so you never wait at arrivals.
